Verify product imagery
Keep the original source image, identify the packaging and approximate archive date, and determine whether the current item still uses the same label. If not, mark the asset as historic or leave it out of the current catalog. Product front and back photographs can help explain labeling, but final product documentation controls the facts.
Verify facility imagery
A factory photograph on an old website may be a template asset or a licensed stock image. Do not call it a PACKMAN EG facility until its location and rights are established. Check for identifiable employees, exposed documents and sensitive information before publication.
Track ownership
Keep filenames, source URLs or source file paths, hashes, creator information and usage permission. Never remove a required attribution from a third-party licensed photograph.
